I never got round to blogging this family shoot which took place back in October last year, so I thought I would share a couple of my favourites from this shoot. Katherine contacted me and wanted some natural lifestyle photos of her and her husband and their two beautiful Weimaraners, Ellie and Willow. Their lifestyle session took place at their home and we then ventured out into a large garden which was perfect for the dogs to play in. They were such wonderful dogs with a loving nature.

There were so many photos from this shoot it was a challenge to narrow them down so I created a montage frame which is one of my most popular products I sell. This is a great way to display your photos on the wall as it tells a story of your day. I love knowing that families I photograph have the story of their session up on their walls to make them smile every time they walk past it! They also bought a large 30″ x 30″ canvas of Willow and Ellie as a lovely keepsake of their girls. It was a privilege to photograph such well behaved dogs! I have another lifestyle family shoot this weekend in Henley, Berkshire with 3 dogs which I am looking forward to, I will blog some sneak previews for you soon.

When the cakes arrived at my studio we were instantly amazed to see the attention to detail and level of skill involved in these cakes. Beautiful lace and leaf icing, intricate flowers in icing, and complex icing motifs decorated these large elegant wedding cakes.

The photographs would have a wide variety of uses for PR , commercial and advertising so our aim was to create simple lifestyle shots with a little propping.

Following the arrival of Ethan (1 week over due) Laura contacted me to arrange Ethan’s newborn session – and here is a peek of a few images of gorgeous Ethan, at only 6 days old! Although it may not seem like an obvious time for a baby portrait, this is a wonderful time, as these precious early days when babies are so tiny flies by so quickly! And before you know it, your little one has doubled in size and you will have missed this wonderful opportunity!

The main focus of this shoot was to capture Ethan, however it was also a great opportunity to capture Ethan’s mum and dad too! Laura and Mark were very laid-back during their session, which gave me the best opportunity to capture lots of gorgeous images of Ethan!

The best time to book a newborn session is when your baby is ideally under 14 days old, I find when they are around 10 days old this is the perfect time when they are most sleepy. This is a good age as you can capture their tiny little features and when they can curl up into cute positions.

All newborn sessions are held in the comfort of my warm studio but I can also come to your own home if you prefer. I work around your routine, in a relaxed, unhurried way. I love using handcrafted accessories in my sessions from wicker baskets to cute hand knitted hats and use any of your props that are personal to you, to make this event special to you for many years to come.

The next session of Ethan will be when he is 6 months old, there will be a big difference in the next post I do of Ethan, I’m looking forward to it!

I then got chatting with my Hair and Make-up Artist Gemma Sutton who is also a brilliant stylist! We discussed the theme and look that we wanted to create for the shoot and Gemma brought along some amazing outfits. We decided to do the shoot on location in an enchanted forest which set the mood. I used natural light for this look to create a soft and dreamy feel to the photographs.
